TD1 Radio was established on 1st December 2008 with the aim of providing more listening choice in the Borders. With local radio and TV services being cut back, we felt it was time to give something back to the Borders by establishing a community led and operated radio station.

A team made up of several unpaid local volunteers with
an interest in radio presenting soon became the sound of TD1 Radio.
After many years of dedication and hard work by the various presenters, TD1 Radio was granted an OFCOM
licence to broadcast locally on FM in 2015.

We rely entirely on donations and advertising revenue to survive.

BOB KING

  • Facebook

Prebendary Bob King has been the Rector of St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Kelso since December 2014 but also shares a passion for Radio. he started his Radio career in 2002 presenting a weekly show of music and chat on Hereford Hospital Radio for 12 years until he moved home to Scotland and Kelso. Bob was involved for several years with TD1 presenting, (yes you’ve guessed it) a weekly show of cheesy music and chat. After a short break from broadcasting he now presents (yes!!) music and chat on a Wednesday evening which he does in conjunction with Borders Hospital Radio the show being broadcast on both stations at the same time. Bob loves nearly all types of music and you can never be sure what is going to come on next.
