The TD1 Radio Technical Team

Every radio station has voices you recognise on air… but behind those voices is a team you rarely see.

At TD1 Radio, our technicians are the quiet professionals who make sure everything works exactly when it should. From maintaining studio equipment to keeping our broadcast chain running smoothly, they are the people who ensure that when you tune to 106.5 FM, the sound of the Central Borders comes through loud and clear.

While presenters may take the microphone, it’s our technical team who make sure the microphones actually work.

The People Who Keep TD1 On Air

Broadcast radio is far more than simply pressing a button.

Our technicians oversee everything from studio systems and audio routing to transmitters, streaming technology and the infrastructure that allows TD1 Radio to reach listeners across the Central Borders and beyond.

They keep the station running day and night — often quietly fixing problems before anyone else even knows they exist.

Whether it’s maintaining our studio equipment, monitoring broadcast quality, supporting presenters during live shows, or implementing new technology behind the scenes, their work ensures TD1 continues to deliver reliable community radio.

The Hidden Heroes of Community Radio

Community radio stations like TD1 rely heavily on volunteers, dedication and passion.

Our technical team give their time and expertise to ensure that the station continues to serve the people of the Scottish Borders — providing local news, music, entertainment and a voice for the community.

As a small community radio station, some of our volunteers perform a dual role as presenter and technician. It's the only way a small community radio station can survive ~ through team work.

Without them ~ there would simply be no broadcast
