70s Sounds | Relive the Music ~ Reignite the Memories
Step back into the decade of glam, grit and unforgettable hooks. 70s Sounds with Karin celebrates the music, memories and magic of the seventies — powered by listener requests and pure nostalgia.
There was a time when bedroom walls were plastered with posters of The Faces, The Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper — when platform boots ruled and every week brought another unforgettable anthem. Karin lived it. Growing up near Glasgow, she saw the decade’s superstars live, long before radio nostalgia became fashionable. Ironically, she once overlooked The Bay City Rollers — only to later work alongside former Roller Eric Faulkner, reconnecting with the very fanbase that would help power 70s Sounds into an international favourite.
This isn’t just a playlist — it’s a three-hour celebration of a generation, driven by listener requests, shared memories and the unmistakable spirit of the seventies.
70s Sounds is presented by Karin Ingram with Patrons Debbie Scerri and Brenda Weaver

The Story
Having been a teenager in the 70s, Karin lived the soundtrack many of us only remember. Her bedroom walls were plastered with posters of The Faces, The Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper — and growing up near Glasgow meant she experienced the era’s biggest superstars live in concert.
Ironically, one band passed her by at the time — The Bay City Rollers.
Fast forward to 2010 and Karin found herself working as agent and promoter for Eric Faulkner — guitarist and songwriter with the multi-million selling band. As Eric forged a respected solo career, many loyal 70s fans stayed with him. So when Karin launched 70s Sounds on TD1 Radio in November 2015, that same international fanbase became a core part of the show’s global audience.
Over the years Karin has shared the microphone with Diane Pender and Alan Doyle, though today she proudly holds the reins solo.
The three-hour show is driven largely by audience requests — keeping the music personal and the connection strong. Two much-loved feature segments add extra sparkle:
Debbie Does Discs – Debbie Scerri selects five songs played back-to-back. Weaver’s Word of the Week – Brenda Weaver curates five tracks linked by one shared word in the title.
It’s interactive, it’s nostalgic, and it’s pure seventies spirit.
