Bob Liddle
Bob Liddle is a familiar name to many fans of traditional music across the Borders and further afield. Based in Kelso, Bob has spent many years immersed in the world of accordion music, performing both as a solo musician and with his popular Blackthorne Ceilidh Band.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Bob’s love for music doesn’t stop with performing. He is also a recording artist with four albums to his name, showcasing his distinctive sound and deep understanding of traditional music.
His later albums, “Softly Flows The Tweed” and “Kale Water”, are particularly special — entirely composed by Bob himself. Demonstrating remarkable musical versatility, he recorded every instrument on the albums personally and produced them in his own home studio.
This same passion now finds a wider audience through radio.
Since 2022, Bob has been presenting Bob Liddle’s Box and Fiddle Show on TD1 Radio, sharing the joy of accordion and fiddle music with listeners every week.
And the programme’s reach goes even further — it is also broadcast on several other UK stations and even airs on a radio station in the United States, where it has found a growing audience among traditional music enthusiasts.
