Born and raised in Musselburgh and proudly rooted in East Lothian, Kay Gorrie brings heart, curiosity and fearless musical variety to TD1 Radio. With over 30 years working in the NHS and a lifelong passion for live music, Kay blends warmth, intelligence and pure enthusiasm into every show she presents.

From raves to classical concerts, festivals to intimate gigs — if there’s music playing, Kay is probably there.

Music has always been part of Kay’s life. Although she doesn’t play an instrument (officially!), she admits she’ll happily pick one up and make a joyful noise until someone politely intervenes.

Her tastes are wide-ranging and adventurous. She loves discovering obscure tracks, diving into artist backstories, and unearthing unexpected covers that breathe new life into familiar songs.

Away from the studio, Kay is deeply involved in a music therapy pilot project through her NHS work — reflecting Kay’s belief in the transformative power of sound.
